Notice is now being provided that commencing from 8.00am on Wednesday 29 March 2023 the ginnel area between 34 & 36 Poulton Street, marked below in red, will be temporarily closed for access for up to 10 days.
The closure of the ginnel is due to works being carried out under the Public Realm Phase One Major Construction Works which are taking place in Kirkham Town Centre as part of the Kirkham Futures Programme.
Access from the Community Centre Car Park and lower Mill Street Car Park will be via other existing exits highlighted above in blue.
Disabled drivers and those requiring a level exit from Mill Street Car Park to the high street are advised to park on the lower part of Mill Street Car Park and to exit the car park behind the Church and onto Poulton Street.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The works to be carried out are part of the Kirkham Futures Programme. Further information can be obtained by contacting the team on 01253 658658 or emailing kirkhamfutures@fylde.gov.uk.
A new programme inspired by the former Roman presence in Kirkham and Wesham and funded through a cooperative partnership will be bringing the past back to life and giving the community the opportunity to get involved in art and archaeology projects.
Please be advised that as part of the planned 'Kirkham Public Realm' works, Traffic Signals will be required in the town centre from Monday 22nd May 2023. This traffic management is required to complete new drainage connections into the existing combined drain running along Poulton Street. The works will be in 4 separate areas as can be seen on the drawing attached, and it is anticipated that there will be 2 days work in each area.
